Hello all, in my capacity as co-developer of upstream Nettoe at http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/nettoe/ I am about to produce a new (much wanted?) release nettoe-1.2.0 within shortly. On the other hand, I have entered the Debian games team with the expressed intent of helping to maintain the corresponding package for Debian GNU/Linux. Hence, what preparatory actions are necessary to achieve this goal? Do I deposit a package somewhere for review, like I would do at mentors.debian.net, or is there some other procedure to follow? Should I apply for some particular resource or capability in order to act as subordinate maintainer? You might like to know that the new release mainly addresses three long standing issues: 1. The background colour and text colour is now neutral in so far as working equally well in a virtual console, or in a terminal emulator with either white or black background. 2. There is now a third, harder AI-mode, that finds all winning moves, and also covers every threat the human player makes. 3. The network game mode is now functional, which was not the case even in the package supplied by the Debian repositories. Presently the source code has been tested by me for Debian Lenny, FreeBSD 6.4, and OpenBSD 4.4, but will continue further. Even though TicTacToe is a simple game, during my testing I have found strategic subtleties I never saw as a child! Kind regards, -- Mats Erik Andersson, fil. dr <mats.andersson@gisladisker.se>
