it's not the "crossposts to several lists" that are the problem. it's
the fact that mailinglists are gated to several newsgroups at the same
time.

as the first one to introduce the message-id wins with NNTP, you get
lists split over those multiple groups, effectivly rendering all of
those groups unusable. if you munge the msg-ids, you will get all
articles in each group, and threading will work (in a news client).

i was under the impression that marco also had a news2mail gate that
made sure that msg-ids were unmunged before being handed off to the
lists, BICBW.

in any case, just replying to the list with these articles is a Bad
Thing(TM).
