I'm interested in such work, as is pabs -- I'd be keen on making this
happen for jessie, and re-packaging all old themes.

Currently, it's a major pain to replace artwork properly (as well as
proper dependencies with theme packages). The idea here would be future
themes for Debian would be in the archive *before* they're set to
default :)
