The main advantages:
 - the most stable distribution
 - a software base that does not change for at least 3 years. By this
way, high end software can have evolutions without big changes. Low
costs on updates.
 - security updates.
 - Updating is easy and relatively well tested, so an software upgrade
is done easily.
 - automatic installations are done easily even with the standard D-I
(preseed rules!)
 - Existence of tools to manage multiple machines

So the end is a stable, flawless, secure with high availability
(downtime with problems from the SO does not exist).
