Re: Considering changing default Remote Desktop client

Hello,

Hi Domas,

I would like to ask whether it is sensible to choose tsclient over
grdesktop, which is the current default in Debian testing.

I don't really know, since tsclient seemed abandoned upstream when we
decided to push grdesktop into the GNOME desktop task.

The main advantage of tsclient is that it supports more protocols (VNC
is one of them) whereas grdesktop is only capable of connecting to
WIndows remote desktop servers. Xvncviewer is needed as a backend for
that though. It is quite important to have VNC support as it is the
protocol that default GNOME remote desktop server Vino uses.

Right, but probably we will ship with grdesktop by default since we're
in freeze for Etch and revisit the subject during Lenny development
cycle, ok?
