I am subscribed to this list for quite some time, but have not seen a single message on this. I submitted a wallpaper (bug #361328) for inclusion in desktop-base, but I only received comments from a single person, who does not appear to be involved in Debian desktop development at all.
Some parties involved in pkg-gnome, pkg-kde and pkg-xfce groups and others will participate in a online meeting to discuss the subject. It wasn't announced here or in debian-devel-announce because we want a simple and small agenda for Etch. The plan is stretch it a bit after release and invite more people. Btw, the plan is use desktop-base as basis yes. I'm sure your artwork will be considered, but we want more cooperation between the desktop environment projects and consistent defaults (login screens, splash and wallpapers). regards, -- stratus
