In the future (esp. once proper icons are available), the progress bar
will either go away entirely or be replaced by a less-obtrusive
indicator, such as a radial indicator or a vertical progress bar. There
are more fundamental problems with the bar, particularly that it doesn't
correctly display progress in some cases (due to bug #168710). It's
also somewhat hackily implemented in the backend.
