At this point in time though, it's clear that there's no way of reaching critical mass on a derivative collaboration channel other than #debian-ubuntu, simply because it is at the Debian/Ubuntu border that we happen to have more interactions (and developers) ATM. So, yes, let's keep both, but I'm skeptical in reaching an active -derivatives now ... unless people from other derivatives chime in and make it happen (hint hint :-)).
