Joerg said that "people are writing their own opinion about $stuff on the list, not that of Debian", QED. So, always get a second opinion about things in Debian. Normally, you'll find out that any second opinion is different from the first one. If you want to decide which of the two, don't ask for a third one, or you'll then have to decide which of the three. Therefore, when in doubt, do what you think is best, not what other people tell you. Except, of course, when what you think is best is obviously wrong.
