Right. I was going to reply with that bug pointer here. 

It is an example of something that newer upstream versions cope with
without failing.

So is https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=756367 which I
have just confirmed is still a bug with 5.7.1, but not with 6.5.5
(There was a request earlier in this thread for actual issues with
5.7.1, that are fixed in newre releases, IIRC)

I added a note in
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=574947 on that
packaging update.
