Friends, Debianites, developers, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Ian, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Ian. The noble Bdale
Hath told you Ian was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault;
And grievously hath Ian answer'd it.
Here, under leave of Bdale and the rest, —
For Bdale is an honorable man;
So are they all, all honorable men, —
Come I to speak of Ian's stepping down.
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Bdale says he was ambitious;
And Bdale is an honorable man.
