This is no more the latest version of the page, please have a look at the
recent developments.

Ah, very very funny. The maintainer is on track to solve nothing, i did the
analysis of the ide-generic and via82cxxx code, confirmed by Jurij, and there
is proof beyond doubt that the original patch was purely broken and done
without any understanding of the issue, and there was no valid reason to
reject my proposed patch.

It is clear from your post that you where blinded by Jonas smoke screen thrown
as a nice wiki page full of uninformed nonsense.

But indeed the issue is solved, no need for the tech committee to further get
involved unless jonas doesn't back out the broken force-loading of
ide-generic, which i am not sure he will do.
