Perhaps so, but some people who have taken it upon themselves to manipulate the bugs do not appear to share your understanding of how the BTS should be used. Note that I'm not saying you're wrong. It may be that people are simply exceeding their authority. (That Thomas Hood may have done so in filing them does not, presumably, justify any possible response one might be able to conceive.) Perhaps the Technical Committee's eventual resolution of http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=97671&repeatmerged=yes will help to shed light on matters like this. -- G.
