The cloud team maintains the pre-installed images at:
https://cloud.debian.org/images/cloud/ - the debian installer folks are more
likely found on debian-boot@lists.debian.org instead.
(Incidentally, you might be able to avoid installing with the cloud images.
generic/genericcloud is likely to work, though I've never tried VMWare.)
