Thank you guys for working on this; sadly the bugs seem to be unresolved upstream[1]. Since Stretch already entered the freeze period (and I’m using Stretch as host system, too) it seems unlikely that this particular problem will be solved in time. However you, Antonio, said you are working on getting the boxes ready despite this bug and I’m curious how you want achieve it. If I can offer any help, please let me know.
Also I saw the Virtual Box image which “inspired” me to write to the list, too.

IIRC the recent releases of vmdeboostrap create jessie/stretch which
don't work with vagrant because of

although Antonio which is working on the lxc / libvirt boxes can answer
you more in detail probably
I've just created a vagrant box with the Virtualbox provider for stretch
this morning, see next mail
