Re: 讨论:文件系统概念中的extent应该怎么翻译?



我倾向于将extent译为“扩展块”,有这么几个理由:
1. “区段”和extent这个单词的含义似乎不是那么直接关联(我习惯于将extent和extend关联起来记忆,含有扩展,延伸的意思),扩展块听上去更贴近

2. 在google上搜索“文件系统 区段“得到的结果粗略看了一下,用”区段“表示”extent“的很多文章都是抄的IBM网站上的这一篇。

3. 见到有用“区段”表示内存分段(segmentation)
