[问题]Debian下的中文输入

[autospeak.bbs@bbs.sayya.org (放弃是因为)]

请问一下在Debian下要输入中文的步骤应该是怎样?
我装了rxvt+xcin了，但是要正常使用中文输入
每次都得先执行 XShells -> XCINterm(Big5) (Wmaker的选单)
然后在开启rxvt来输入

但是其他软体如gvim和mozilla就不知道如何使用中文输入了
请问一下正确的方法应该使怎样?

P.S:
/etc/environment已经改成LANG=zh_TW
而~/.bashrc也有
    export LC_ALL=zh_TW.Big5
    export LANG=zh_TW.Big5
    export XMODIFIERS="@im=xcin"

另外
每次进入X都会出现xconsole
请问这是用来干嘛的 要怎么关闭这功能

再另外
debian的rc.d下开机要执行的指令
应该怎么用? 应为没有类似rh的rc.local
之前我写在/etc/rc.boot好像也不行说
