Set the font name something output from 'xlsfonts -fn *big5*'.
Still, it is strange. Either the gtk/gnome apps used some
-*-*-medium-r-normal--16-*-*-*-*-*-big5-0 or
*-r-* but it still won't explain why chinput cannot use those
fonts. It seems like a chinput specific problem but only you
can see it. :)
