unable to input in woody with xcin

Please help me!
I had a good experience with xim in Mandrake9 and Linpus 8.2, but now I
am unable to use it in Debian! I can open xcin (ver. 2.5.3-pre2) via
Xcinterm (GB2312). When focused on rxvt I can change input method, no
surprise. But I am not able to write in Openoffice.org or anywhere else.
I tried to run Kwrite through rxvt, but it did not work. Besides it's
too complicated. Isn't there an easy way, like not messing with rxvt at
all, just CTRL+SPACE in editor and write?
Thanks for any help.
