在百科全書裏要查的是 Simian，不是 Ximian。 :-)
Simian 是不是泛指猴猿類？ www.dictionary.com：
simian \Sim"i*an\, a. [L. simia an ape.] (Zo["o]l.)
Of or pertaining to the family Simiad[ae], which, in
its widest sense, includes all the Old World apes
and monkeys; also, apelike. -- n. Any Old World
monkey or ape.

據說 bonobo 樣貌和 DNA 都很像 chimpanzee (黑猩猩)，但性格就有大分別了，
例如 chimpanzee 似乎是父系社會？ Bonobo 是母系。
男性的 bonobo 絕不會像 chimpanzee 一樣因為爭地盤而打個你死我活。
只是，bonobo 可以說是「性濫交」者，男女老少都常常以性行為
避免或解決紛爭，所以 bonobo 的社會很友善，很和平。但另一方面，
從人類倫理道德觀看 bonobo 的性生活，相信都會令大部份人搖頭歎息。
大自然真是無奇不有。 :-)
