    to /etc/diald/standard.filter (fixes bug #10325 and #10481).
  * If diald finds an old 'fifo /var/run/diald/*' statement, it offers to
    replace it by 'fifo /var/run/diald.fifo' as the /var/run/diald
    directory doesn't exist anymore (fixes bug #9361).

----- Low Urgency Packages --------------

  * amd/info_ndbm.c:53, mk-amd-map/mk-amd-map.c:70: Include <gdbm-ndbm.h>
    instead of <ndbm.h> for libc6; this is the header of the compat
    libgdbm with same binary db format as in previous releases, libc6 ndbm
    uses another format!
  * config/Makefile.linux: add -lnsl to SYSLIB if /usr/lib/libnsl.a
    exists; this is needed in libc6 environment to get NIS functions
  * fsi/fsi_data.h: qelem only defined in libc5
  * Unsolved libc6 problems: glibc RPC headers don't have prototypes for
    some functions (get_myaddress, xdr_opaque_auth), though these are
    contained in the lib... but just warnings.

apmd 2.4-5 -> 2.4-6 into hamm/hamm/binary-i386/admin

  * Fix typo ($dpkg_errs instead $tar_errs) in dpkg-cross.in
  * In dpkg-shlibdeps, change objdump call and method how to find needed
    libraries; the objdump in binutils-2.8 doesn't have the -k option (raw
    section contents) anymore, so use --private-headers instead and look
    for ELF NEEDED entries in the dynamic section. Also changed
    debian/README to reflect this change.

elm-me+ (2.4pl25ME+32-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Binary package no longer creates /usr/sbin directory
    (fixes bug #10379)
  * Closed bug #9047
    (Not really a problem with Elm -- If it cannot access the mail spool
     directory due to physical equipment failure, I do not expect it to
     work.)
  * Closed bug #8805
    (Consensus seems to be that this is not serious. Elm does use dotfile
     locking). I at this time have removed flock locking from Elm-ME+,
     however, I am not necessarily convinced that this is best. Policy
     seems to be rather strange wrt this issue.
  * Closed bug #7613
    (Cannot duplicate with most recent version of Elm-ME+. Please
     try version 2.4pl25ME+32-1 and if you still get the problem,
     submit a new report with an example message with full headers.)

    contributed by Karl M. Hegbloom <karlheg@inetarena.com>.
  * Removed useless RCS ids.
  * Corrected compilation flags.
  * Don't try to keep file modification time, it changed file status change
    time. And is more natural a change in access time than file status time.
    Fixes bug #7920.
  * Minor fix to manpage.

  * Added md5 checksums.
  * Updated README.debian and removed item from TODO list.

menu 1.3-2 -> 1.4-1 into hamm/hamm/binary-i386/admin
menu (1.4-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Due to extra features/bugreporting, this version doesn't work well
    with the menu-bugs in fvwm95_2.0.42a-10, and latex2html_96.1.h-5.
  * added ability do "define" functions to install-menu.
    (very usefull if you want to have a common xterm/rxvt for all
    window managers)
  * '!include \"/etc/menu-method/filename\"'
  * read !include "filename" relative to current direcotry
  * provide /etc/menu-method/menu.h example file.
  * parsing of (all) files files somewhat rewritten; should be
    more stable now (except for bugs).
  * trailing spaces are stripped (so a \ at the end of the
    line will always be a continuation line, even if there's a
    space after it).
  * _Much_ better error reporting.
  * removed all those pesky "icon=none" from the example menufiles.
  * in new menu format, "package(local.*)" is considered installed
  * fix bug in hotkey generation
  * first check for "examplercfile" (system.$wm-menu), and then create
    output file.
  * made the README in /usr/doc/menu/example/README somewhat clearer as
    to what the purpose of these files is
  * incorporated afterstep-package menu-method's into my example
    menu-method (allong with the "!include menu.h" stuff).
  * install-menu: added toupper() and tolower() functions
  * do not attempt to read menuentry files with the name "core".
  * Using libc6 now
  * fixed gpmconfig entry.
  * added Joey's cmap.xpm file.
  * in compat mode (for old /etc/menu-methods's), write esccpp($title)
    as identifier (fixes "install-menu uses text instead of x11 entry"
    bug).
  * in case of missing "section=" (in new-format menuentry), assume
    seciont="/". (fixes a reported bug, I believe).
  * "+" can now be part of a package name, in new-format menuentries.
    (previously, doc++ and libg++ couldn't have a new-format menuentry).
  * executable menuentries are now executed, and the stdout used as
    menuentry (nice feature request from Joey Hess)
  * update-menus now reads config info in /etc/menu-methods/menu.config
    (or ~/.menu-methods/menu.config). Currently can specify only error
    logging. (set "verbosity=quite" in /etc/menu-methods/menu.config to
    remove all messages). Not very well tested yet.

  * nettools: increased device buffer size from 1024 to 10240 bytes
	      for ifconfig/netstat. This is enough for the max. number
	      of ip_alias entries (the kernel supports 256 entries)

  * net-tools: added FDDI support (Larry Stefani <stefani@lkg.dec.com>)

pkg-order 0.07 -> 0.08 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/misc
pkg-order (0.08) unstable; urgency=low
  * Deal with old style packages which have a separate version and
    revision field.
  * Field names are not case-sensitive according to programmer's 4.1, and
    now pkg-order is aware of that.
  * Arrk. Fixed patch above so that we still have cononical hyphenized
    field names!!
  * This fixes Bug#10380.
  * Made the result checks return rumber of errors, rather than 0 based
    index of last error (so 0 means there are 0 errors, used to be that no
    errors returned -1), this makes counting errors easier.
  * pkg-order now understands that unfound dependencies are really an
    error (a potentially critical one at that).
  * pkg-order now exits if there are no packages to order, rather than
    returning with cryptic error messages.
  * Added some rudimentary debugging facilities (as I needed them). These
    will be expanded in the future.
  * Record unknown dependencies, and delete them as needed.
  * Honour the warn directive when faced with failures.
  * Made conflict detection less rigid, and should now detect the type
    correctly (looser but more accurate).
  * Make better error checks while deciding on whether to let a package
    participate in the ordering.
  * Added a member function remove to the results package, used to remove
    invalid unfound errors, and for completeness.
  * Incorporated the examples that demonstrate the bugs to the test
    suite.
  * Updated the package ordering tests of the test suite to the new API.
  * The above hopefully fix BUG#10381 and Bug#10382, at least, they pass
    all the test in the suite, but that may not be saying much. I am
    worried about spurious errors in Conflicts, though the packages are
    still ordered. I have not been able to tickle that, though.
  * Modified debian/rules so that we configure the Makefile generation
    correct;y.

xfree86 (3.3-2) unstable; urgency=low
  * debian/control: make xfnt* depend: on xbase >= 3.3-1, so they get the
    right mkfontdir. Make xserver-vga16 also depend >= 3.3-1, instead of
    3.2-0, so it can work at config time [#10487], and xfnt75, since it
    specifically tries to use the 75dpi symbol fonts. [#10507] Update
    xlib6-dev to depend on xlib6 3.3-1 as well.
  * debian/control: confict/replace xterm-color.
  * debian/create-arch-xbase: point /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver to
    /etc/X11/xserver, for new SecurityPolicy config file (in xext)...
  * debian/xbase-writeconfig: generate SecurityPolicy, and...
  * debian/xbase-dirs: create the directory for it, and...
  * debian/xbase-conffiles: make SecurityPolicy a conffile. [#10471]
  * programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common/xf86Config.c (findConfigFile): look
    for /etc/X11/XF86Config, per debian style.

zircon 1.18.4-2 -> 1.18.29-1 into hamm/hamm/binary-i386/net
zircon (1.18.29-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Improved sourcepackage to work on other than my system without
    modification (!). It requires a rather large hack to make the
    Tcl-based install work, so it is possible there may be more bugs
    with the sourcepackage. (The binary package that you run should
    be OK, though.)
  * Zircon 1.18.29 has more documentation files than 1.18.4; these are
    installed into /usr/doc/zircon.
  * Added a menu entry, fixing bug #8397.
  * New upstream release
