Bug#907447: cdrom: Installer failed to install boot loader on Geode based systems

Package: cdrom
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
We use 2 Geode based systems:
1. Kontron MOPSlcdLX - PC/104 with AMD Geode™ LX800
2. PC104 TF-PFM-540I-B10
On both systems installer failed to install boot loaders (we try: Lilo and Grub). This was noticed since Debian 9.4 installer
(my coleague successfuly installs Debian 9.3 in the begining of this year).
We check whether wirus protection is dissabled in Bios.

   * What led up to the situation?
Normal installation with target on CF card.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I try install Debian with Lilo or Grub boot loader.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
System which is unable to boot.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
