proper way of customizing the Debian Installer etch RC1 cd

Hello,

I'm trying to customize the Debian Installer etch RC1 cd to my needs.
I've done some preseeding successfully. Now I need to add some
additional packages to the cd that should be installed with all their
dependencies. And I'm wondering what's the proper/debian way to do it?
Should I just put them in the correct pool/ subdirectory and add them to
dists/etch/main/binary-i386/Packages ? If there's some automatic method
to handle all of the dependencies it will be great ;-) I've met apt-move
but I'm not sure if it's the right tool for the job.

thanks in advance

P.S.
tell me if i'm on the wrong list
