The 'last-minute' page (http://cdimage.debian.org/lastmin.html) already has a
more elegant solution. This issue was discussed in various mailing lists
throughout this year, and several clean solutions were proposed, but the gpm
maintainer refuses to do anything about it. Even providing clear documentation
is too much for him.
