There are some images (dated 11 oct) on ceu.fi.udc.es. Use the Pseudo-Image
Kit from
  http://panic.et.tudelft.nl/~costar/pseudo-image-kit
(read the included README!) with the list file
  http://panic.et.tudelft.nl/~costar/ceu.fi.udc.es/potato-i386-1_19991110.raw.list
and then rsync from
  ceu.fi.udc.es::debian-cd/potato/

I didn't try this myself (generating the .list only needs first few-100k), so
I'd be very interested in the rsync statistics...
