I've already tested this part (and removed the workaround in
freebsd-utils). Before the workaround, I didn't manage to build
freebsd-utils even once, so I think it's pretty certain that the
problem is gone.
Unless you (or someone else) insist on testing it further, I'd be
glad to upload it as-is.
