It looks like the first error resembles http://bugs.debian.org/634935
but then it hits a critical problem.
I can only suggest trying to connect to an open network first; that
might reveal some other problem.

kFreeBSD has no firmware loading mechanism.
Upstream FreeBSD embeds firmware blobs into the kernel or module. In
Debian, the DFSG prohibit this so drivers needing it are not built.
But as far as I can tell, only the uath (USB) chipsets needed firmware,
and others should work without?
