For the huge(er) suites like X11 and it's drivers, most people,
even the hardcore geeks like myself, are happy with just-the-
binary distributions. It's because of the geek factor, I'm
guessing, that so many FreeBSD users like to compile and install
from source.
Could it be that a large chunk of the Linux users are not
hackers and wouldn't know C from csh scripts that they are
happy with drop-in binaries?
