Right now i am reinstalling a server over IPMI
the colors are drama - or lovely Warhola !
At the near end of all pleasure
it asked me to enter the drive/part
to give the grub a home...
i was in doubt, had to be sure.
and Jumped back into 'schijfbeheer'
and found my drive..
Unfortunately grub didn´t like my entry
after i followed the enforced path forward
although it was correct it failed to install.
KEY: there is something missing in the list
of media where grub wants to install.
a decent no-doubt hint which drive has
been used for system install.
but! pop there it shows the correct drive
but fails nevertheless
I am now forced (by ignorance or lack of knowledge)
to full restart install and follow steps until grub is with me.
Amen.
The Thing:
Can the installer be fixed - in such way
that it will know and share the used media
so, there is no doubt on which to install grub..
i could of course unlink all other media..
but installing the system at distance
gives a very remote chance of doing so
- ident boot media
- give it to grub as option
- other media as secondaries
-> or opt to ignore them - no writes
- OH! if the installer might not have it yet
fetching firmware from an USB
so certain devices will work after installations

plus : tailscale is a free VPN service
it makes it possible to login over secure line
is it possible to include tailscale into package service ?
