I wonder why this is not detected by tests on
https://openqa.debian.net/group_overview/10
I see there are specific runs for UEFI, so it should be possible to detect
this?

The reason for this is, there are no standard-system-only tests there.
When installing the Xfce desktop for example, on the same UEFI Qemu machine,
with otherwise the same parameters, the problem cannot be reproduced anymore...
