I allways use a keyboard variant. While installing Debian 11, the only keyboard layout

Yes, we do not want to clutter the menu with various variant choices for
each and every language.

You can install in french with a different keyboard layout for whatever reasons : being in another country or using a variant layout like Dvorak or Bépo (my case). It is thus very hard to find characters different from numbers or french alphabet. Actually, it was difficult for me to type identical password 2 times, and then I was unable to type the same password at the login prompt. It happened on 2 or 3 installations until I decided to type only numbers in the password.
