Hi Cyprien, Cyprien Laplace <cyprien@cypou.net> (2021-09-19): > While trying to rescue a system, I wanted to be able to list > and create EFI boot entries, but efibootmgr is not installed > in the debian-installer image. > > I think that the capability of manipulating the EFI boot > entries from the installer system is a good thing to have. At least for systems I wanted to rescue, it was very likely I had to fix something inside the / and/or /boot and/or /boot/efi partitions, so mounting all the things©®™ (as prompted for by the installer in rescue mode once you pick a root filesystem) is likely to be a good idea, and you can then use efibootmgr from within /target (asking for a shell in the context of the installed system as opposed to the context of the installer system). Doing that would work with all d-i versions, without waiting for a possible efibootmgr-udeb.
