Comments/Problems:
My biggest problem: my touchpad didn't work at all in the graphical
installer; the mouse pointer is stuck in the centre of the screen and
doesn't respond to movement on the touchpad.
It works in the installed system, out of the box; I'm using Xfce4. I
think it's a Synaptics sort of a device, but I'm a bit unclear on the
details. Hopefully the attached files give enough detail.
As a result, I couldn't take any screenshots (since the "Screenshot"
button doesn't seem to be in the tab order, and I didn't find a keyboard
shortcut for it). I ended up recording my installation with a camera.
I was able to achieve everything else I wanted to do with the keyboard,
though.
I installed over a wired Ethernet connection, so I didn't try to use
non-free b43 WiFi drivers in the installer.
This was an install onto a new, blank SSD, but I changed my mind a lot
about my partition and encryption layout; on my first d-i session I
managed to get the partition/LVM/crypt system stuck in a state where I
couldn't make certain changes (I think I wanted to trash an encrypted
volume and start again or something); I had to reboot the installer to
achieve what I wanted. Unfortunately I don't have good records of the
exact steps I took, so this is probably not an actionable bug report.
In the end, the installation was successful.
Attached some files from /var/log/installer, lightly redacted. (These
are from the final d-i session, so the installer finds traces of the
previous partition attempt.)
