Bug#829725: debootstrap: cannot bootstrap from repositories without InRelease files when --debian-installer set

David McBride <dwm37@cam.ac.uk> (2016-07-05):

Are you sure this is the correct version?

InRelease support was disabled a long time ago:
| debootstrap (1.0.48) unstable; urgency=low
| * Team upload
| [ Julien Cristau ]
| * Disable InRelease support. gpgv won't give us back the signed data, and
| full gpg is not available inside d-i (closes: #703889).
| * Move extract_release_components to after signature verification.
| Suggested by Ansgar Burchardt.

and the only hits in debootstrap 1.0.81 are in its changelog.

There's a branch to possibly restore InRelease support
(people/cyphermox/inrelease) but that's only in the git repository.
