Anyway, please let me know if you're going to make no_hpsdc=1 parameter work some way.
The debian installer allows you to set such values on the kernel command line: modulename.blacklist=yes or modulename.parametername=value In this case you could try to add to the kernel command line (at the IPL prompt) one (or both) of: hp_sdc.blacklist=yes hp_sdc.no_hpsdc=1
