Package: debian-installer
Severity: wishlist

The images offered in the netboot directory require expert massage to
be used with etherboot. The manual gives this issue only one sentence
and does not explain that in order to use them, you have to use mkelf-linux
(from the mknbi package) on another machine and that you have to
provide the correct kernel flags, which themselves require effort to
find.

Since the majority of i386 systems do not have network boot PROMs installed,
use of etherboot should be well documented, and there is justification for
providing a pre-made nbi as well as a short recipe for constructing nbi
images from custom kernel and/or initrd.
