I however fail to preseed this and still let the user choose. We'd need
this for accessibility, to enable MATE by default when braille or speech
was used. I have tried the following:
debconf-set-selections mate-preseed.cfg
where mate-pressed.cfg contains:
tasksel tasksel/first multiselect standard, mate-desktop, print-server
tasksel tasksel/first seen false
tasksel tasksel/tasks multiselect standard, mate-desktop, print-server
tasksel tasksel/tasks seen false
tasksel tasksel/desktop mate
tasksel tasksel/desktop seen false
After that, debconf-get tasksel/first etc. return the expected values.
But when arriving on the task choices, gnome is still the default... and
debconf-get tasksel/first etc. have become empty. I guess I am missing
something?
