vielen Dank für deinen Installationsbericht.
Dein Problem ist also, dass seit Linux 3.x IOMMU aktiviert sein muss, da
sonst weder Netzwerk noch USB mit der amd64 Architektur funktionieren.
Andere haben ebenfalls dieses Problem mit dem Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Mainboard, siehe [1].
Ein ähnliches Problem gab es auch mit dem AMD 990FX/SB950 Chipsatz [2],
dort musste allerdings IOMMU deaktiviert sein. Die Fehlermeldung dort
war auch:
device descriptor read/64, error -32
Die Lösung für dieses Problem war ein BIOS-Update. Deshalb schlage ich
vor, dass du die neueste BIOS Version (FD) von [3] installierst.
Sollte das nicht helfen, besteht die Hoffnung, dass Linux 3.x damit
ebenso umgehen könnte wie 2.6.x aus Squeeze. Deswegen weise ich diesen
Fehlerbericht dem linux-image Packet zu.

thank you very much for your installation report.
So your problem is, that since linux 3.x, IOMMU has to be enabled,
because otherwise neither network nor USB work with the amd64 architecture.
Others also have this problem with the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 mainboard,
see [1].
A similar problem existed for the AMD 990FX/SB950 chipset as well [2],
however there IOMMU had to be disabled. The error message there was also:
device descriptor read/64, error -32
The solution for that problem was a BIOS update. Therefore I suggest
that you install the newest BIOS version (FD) from [3].
If that doesn't help, there still is hope, that linux 3.x could handle
this just as 2.6.x from squeeze did. Thus I'm reassigning this bug
report to the linux-image package.
