Bug#700974: debian-installer: Very slow boot time with UEFI installer

Package: installation-reports
Version: 2.49
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The Wheezy RC1 installer is very slow when booting up with UEFI. It will take almost a minute to get to the menu. During this time the following message was displayed:

Welcome to Grub!

error: "prefix" is not set.

At first I thought the installer completely failed to boot, but as stated it worked after I waited a while. After that when selecting Install (text or graphical didn't matter) the screen froze for a minute again as shown in the attachment. Once it progressed I had no further issues with it.

This test was performed in VirtualBox on Wheezy configured to use Debian x64 as OS with all other settings set to default values.
