System would not reboot. It ended up in openboot at the “ok” prompt. Last message was “Fast Data Access MMU Miss” (WOW. This STILL has not been fixed). I assumed this was the same problem as with the 02-08-2010 build. The problem was ameliorated then in terms of “fixing” bugs(569719, related = 565639 & 562594). Did so again: Did rescue into an installer shell within hda2. >chroot /target >mount /dev/hda1 /boot >silo -u -f Then attempted to reboot. The boot process could not find “/dev/hda2” for root. It had been renamed “/dev/sda2” in the boot environment. But it was still /dev/hda2 on the disk. I changed hda2 to sda2 in /boot/silo.conf . This allowed the boot sequence to complete. Now I am left with disk partitions named sda* instead of hda*. What is up with this? Are we changing naming conventions? Will this inconsistency be fixed?
