An usual lenny automated installation is completed in less than 10 minutes (longer than RHEL which is 4 minutes due to the fact that I don't have a local mirror) but an squeeze install takes about 30 minutes. I've identified two steps that are taking too much time: 1) detecting disks and all other hardware 2) setting the time (waiting of RTC) Regarding the disk detection, it looks like 'disk-detect' is executed before the installation of libblkid1-udeb and libuuid1-udeb and the there seems to be no progress until these are installed. The detection take like 2 seconds for lenny. Thanks -- Please make sure that the hardware-summary log file, and any other installation logs that you think would be useful are attached to this report. Please compress large files using gzip. I read through all the ("partman" related) bugs mentioned here and am closing them now as - they (finally) indicated success and/or - I know from first hand experience that the functionality is working in Wheezy and/or - they only contained very little information and/or - they were (very) old. If I've closed a bug incorrectly please do reply or just file a new one - thats often better, as the bug log will be more clear. cheers, HolgerAttachment: signature.asc
