trying it with this week's debian installer (normal, not kde variant, but shouldn't matter), what i get when i re-run the "use entire disk with lvm+encryption" guided partitioning twice is this: The volume group name used to automatically partition using LVM is already in use. Lowering the priority for configuration questions will allow you to specify an alternative name. this also happens when runn thrice. when, then, one uses the "use entire disk" plain guided setup is used, the "Encrypted volum (sda3_crypt)" and the lvm lvs still show up. trying to configure the lvm leads to: Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sda2 -- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/sda2 until you reboot -- so you shouldn't mout it or use it in any way before rebooting. . ERROR!!! and several further errors. the user is still stuck, as the lvms can't be removed. i had to `vgremove` the volume group and `cryptsetup luksClose sda3_crypt`. hth chrysn
