Not sure what you mean by don't do partitioning during installs. Partitioning drives is a key part of installation.I didn't use cfdisk to partition the system, I used the debian installer "manual" selection instead of guided. I still think people need the option to be able to manually select what partitions they want to use.
I've switched to using fdisk from console to manually created the partitions needed during installation in the short term till this bug gets resolved.
I'd see it as critical as I saw data corruption and loss on all squeeze installations as a result of this bug.
