Comments/Problems:
Partition hard drives:

Selected manual partitioning, but test system configuration was not shown. Had to click to raid section, do nothing but return to partitioner to see software raidsets, then had to click LVM and do nothing but return to partitioner to see LVs. Everything should be seen first time manual partitioning is selected. Then, if the user wishes to change things like deleting/adding an LV or deleting/adding a raidset or just wipping selected configuration items, they can do so.

I must say, however, the current paritioner his is an improvement from a year ago when I had to manually start raid sets and vgchange -ay in console 2 before using the partitioner.

Reboot:
Booted ok, GDM came up (screen too large for display, tho), but no desktop software was installed even tho I took the default Desktop system. Had to get an xterm and apt-get install gnome. Used mirrors.kernel.org for install and gnome install.

<Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.>

Above pretty much says it. I test various distros and the test system is setup accordingly thus making it out-of-the-ordinary. However, it is a good test of a distro's installation methods, software packaging, ease of use, features, timeliness, robustness, etc. They gui install is getting there, would like to see less of a gui like text install and more gui with drop down menus, selection lists, radio buttons to select items instead of clicking on full lines of options, etc. Also, don't know why the screen was too big for the display, but once into a desktop, was able to select the correct resolution for the monitor and all was well after that.

Have a dual monitor setup (two graphics cards, not using dual head ATM) and had to manually configure X to use it. Worked ok, but would like to see a gui method of setting up dual monitors and/or dual head offered out-of-the box.

When logged on as an ordinary user and then su - in a terminal, cannot start a gui application until xhost + as normal user and exporting DISPLAY as the root user.

Sound did not work out of the box, but did after rebooting. Don't remember what I did to get it to work. Did work out of the box on a previous installation on same machine.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
