I used the netboot image from 03-Apr to successfully install on a
PowerBook G4 (powerbook5,8). It has a similar ethernet controller also
using the sungem driver. The pci id of my card is 106b:006b.

So this is probably not a general problem for all powermacs. You could
also try one of the newer daily images. I just discovered that they are 
now built again.
