It's hard to tell exactly. The Debian package has the following version:
1.8.8.git.2009.07.19-5. It's a snapshot from upstream, but well before the 
version you indicate.

Thanks for the references. I've read the patch and scanned through the 
report, but my impression is that this is a different issue.
Otavio may be a better judge of that than me though.
