It's well known that I'm not very keen on anythig that silently
implies that things belong to the person doing the install.

For that reason, "your partitions" always make me want to answer "but
these are not *my* partitions...these are partitions on the computer's
HD"..

As a consequence, I'd be tempted to propose a small rewording:

LVM allows combining partitions ("physical volumes") to form a
virtual disk ("volume group"), which can then be divided into virtual
partitions ("logical volumes"). Volume groups and logical volumes may span
several physical disks. New physical volumes may be added to a volume group
at any time, and logical volumes can be resized up to the amount of
unallocated space in the volume group.


That excepted, I think that your proposal is definitely a possible good
improvement.
