Or you believe it is our > fault somewhere? From what I've seen on this issue elsewhere, the installer's already doing pretty much the right thing by detecting hwclock hangs. The only other thing it might do would be to set HWCLOCKACCESS=no in /etc/default/rcS or to disable /etc/init.d/hwclock.sh after detecting such a hang.
