In the mean time Rene Engelhard has explained the limitations of this
plan on IRC. Turns out that java is also recommended by a number of
packages in order to drive various wizzards, including some rather
basic and expected-to-be there-ones. So completely dropping java is
out of the question.

I then had another look at what could be possible and came up with four
candidates:
- openoffice.org-filter-mobiledev - only 1 MB, not worth it
- openoffice.org-writer2latex - only 1 MB, not worth it
- openoffice.org-base - 8 MB, but for "only" that probably worth keeping
- openoffice.org-filter-binfilter - 25 MB

The -binfilter package mainly provides support for StarOffice documents,
which is a legacy application. It seems reasonable to change that from
a Depends to a Recommends as most users will not need it. Being able to
save 25 MB for our first CDs seems a reasonable reason to do this.

For those that do need the package, adding it in the description under
"you can extend the functionality by..." seems a good idea.

This package is required when another desktop environment than Gnome/KDE
is used, so not really an option.

Reassigning to OOo as the -binfilter change really should be made in the
meta package and not in tasksel.
