OK. I have just confirmed the regression.
As VT2 is correct, it is unlikely that this is an issue in the keymap, 
although that should be checked for changes.

Most likely the regression is in either cairo or directfb, but reassigning 
to cdebconf until we can trace it more exactly.

It would be good if someone could confirm whether the same problem also 
affects other languages that have similar keys.
I checked the Dutch keyboard and that is also affected: the ± and ˚ keys 
(first gives +, second is dead).

I have just checked and Lenny Beta1 was still good.
